Ambiti8n: DOERS’ PARADISE – IPCEI-CIS/8RA Workshop at E-Group Budapest HQ

At E-Group, we believe that the future of technology lies in mission oriented collaboration. This past week, we were honored to host a pivotal workshop for the EU IPCEI-CIS/8RA. It was a time of intense strategic alignment, technical deep-dives, and team building as we work toward a stronger sovereign digital Europe. Our contribution to this project is deeply rooted in our core mission. E-Group is dedicated to developing federated and sovereign AI solutions that are: Human-centric | Sovereign | Distributed | Safe and Federated.

Ambiti8n: The Engine of IPCEI-CIS Workstream 3

Workstream 3 (WS3), which is tasked with developing the advanced, modular processing services needed for the Multi-Provider Cloud-Edge Continuum. E-Group co-lead the Workstream and the leads the AI Cluster.

However, developing these tools in isolation isn’t enough. We need them to talk to each other, to validate and activate our WS3 components

This is where Ambiti8n comes in. Ambiti8n is the dedicated WS3 workstream initiative designed to solve the core challenge of WS3: taking diverse, heterogeneous edge services (AI, Data, App Deployment, Orchestration) and validate the components (delivered by our members) interplay via integrating them into a unified integration flow.

Instead of just discussing the theory of modular processing, data and AI technology stack and cybersecurity and safety, Ambiti8n is the practical implementation vehicle that validates them. Its objective is to run an integrated horizontal WS3 pilot that serves as a proof of concept for the entire IPCIS-CIS Reference Architecture

The 3 Principles of Ambiti8n projekt

To turn the complex mandate of WS3 into reality, the Budapest workshop defined three guiding principles for the Ambiti8n initiative:

  1. Component Activation: We are moving passive architecture into active participation. Every partner’s technology component must be „switched on” and ready to interoperate.
  1. Collaborative Execution: We are replacing siloed development with structured, shared project management.

Integration & Use Case Focus: We are driving development through a real application use cases. This ensures that our WS3 services are not just robust on paper, but are technologically sophisticated and functional in real-world scenarios.

Workshop Summary: Alignment in Budapest

On November 13th and 14th, the WS3 team gathered at E-Group headquarters in Budapest for a hybrid workshop. The event kicked off on the 13th with a welcome networking gathering  and a  dinner & boat tour along the Danube. It was a fantastic opportunity to socialize and enjoy the sights of Budapest before the hard work began.

We are grateful to the IPCEI-CIS community — particularly the WS3 partners and everyone who was present in Budapest or online attending, including  but not limited: CloudFerro, ENEA, Engineering, Gdańsk University of Technology, Infobip, Reply, Result, Tiscali, TIM Group

The following day was dedicated to a full-day work session. The primary goal was to agree on components and use cases, building a concrete path toward an integrated system demo.

Key outcomes included:

  • Adoption of CRL: The team agreed to use Component Readiness Level (CRL) instead of the traditional TRL. This shift helps us better visualize how specific components integrate into the wider IPCEI system and infrastructure.
  • Technology Pillars: We aligned on the key pillars supporting our system:
  • Application Deployment
  • LLM/SLM Components
  • Federated AI Components
  • Infrastructure and Data Exchange
  • Data Spaces & AI

A „Doers Paradise”

E-Group’s culture has always been about implementation. Our CEO, Antal Kuthy, coined the motto #DoersParadise since day one. We kicked off the summit with a boat tour of the Danube to strengthen our bonds, and participants received later custom aprons—symbolizing that we are ready to get our hands dirty in the „kitchen” of European innovation. We captured the moment with a group photo to commemorate a successful and friendly summit.

This meeting reaffirmed our commitment to an AI that serves humanity—a vision rooted in „Fraternity in the age of AI”, a concept Antal recently championed in a key publication

We look forward to the next steps in bringing the European Multi-Provider Cloud-Edge Continuum to life.
